Social Media Jargon Buster

Vlog

A blog submitted in the form of a video. Or a baddie in Star Trek. (Probably.)

Virtual Worlds

Online environments where people create a representation of themselves (an avatar) and socialise with other visitors. Basic activity is usually free, but people can usually spend real money to buy virtual currency to purchase accessories, virtual goods, or to access premium content or VIP areas. They're fun. And the sector's growing. Fast. We design and build them. Lookey here.

Video podcasting

Similar to podcasting, video podcasting or vodcasting delivers video clips (rather than audio files) of your fave TV shows direct to your PC via web feeds like RSS or Atom. They can then be downloaded to an iPod or portable media player.

Virtual community

A virtual community is an online community who share a common interest or ideas via email, blogs, chat rooms and newsgroups.
